Tantalizing Truffles

These truffles are so delicious- you’ll be hard pressed to stop with just one. Or two. Or twenty. These truffles make great gifts during Christmas and for Valentine’s Day–that is, if you don’t eat them all yourself!


1 package Oreos
1 package cream cheese, softened
2 packages (8 oz each) of semi-sweet baking chocolate


Using a food processor or chopper, crush 6 cookies into fine crumbs. Reserve for later. Next crush remaining cookies and place in a medium bowl. Add cream cheese to cookie crumbs and pulse until well blended. Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe mixing bowl. Roll cookie mixture into balls about 1-inch in diameter. Dip balls in chocolate. For easy dipping, use two forks to roll truffle in chocolate, then lift fork, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Place on baking sheet lined with wax paper. Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs. Crushed peppermints or nuts also make delicious toppings. Refrigerate until firm, about an hour. Store leftovers (you won’t have any!) covered in the refrigerator.
